At Athletes of the World we work with athletes and sports organisations to create high-impact campaigns, providing tailored education and support for athletes who want to use their voice for good.
We are Hannah and Melissa, two GB athletes who teamed up after the Tokyo Olympics because of a shared concern about the challenges the world faces, and a shared belief in the power of athletes to inspire action.
We believe that athletes have a unique opportunity to make positive change in this world, using sport's platform and its capacity to unite people behind an ambitious goal.
There's plenty in this world we need to fix, but by channeling the qualities athletes use all the time - resilience, teamwork, courage, ambition and staying focused under pressure - we give ourselves the best chance of success.
Hannah (left) is a sailor, a double Olympic Champion and was Team GB's flag bearer this year. In 2019 she founded the Big Plastic Pledge to reduce single use plastic in sport.
Melissa (right) was a GB rower from 2016-2021 and led several campaigns as part of Champions for Earth, working to unlock the potential of athletes as advocates for the planet.
COP26 was the global climate summit which happened in Glasgow last November, with leaders from around the world coming together to agree their climate commitments for the coming years.
In the run-up, we brought together over 50 Tokyo Olympians and Paralympians from around the world, including flag bearers from 35 different countries, challenging World Leaders about the urgent need for ambitious climate action.
